# Notion Integration

> Connect Notion to Statisfy and sync pages and databases into your Knowledge Base, either dataset-wide or matched to accounts.

### Connect Notion with Statisfy

The Notion integration syncs pages and databases from your Notion workspace into Statisfy Knowledge Base datasets, so Stella and your agents can answer from that content. You choose exactly which pages and databases Statisfy can read — access is granted from within Notion, never workspace-wide by default.

**Prerequisites:**

* **Admin access** in Statisfy — Notion is an org-level integration, connected once for your whole organization
* Permission in Notion to share the pages and databases you want to sync with the integration

### What Gets Synced

| Content | How it's synced |
| - | - |
| **Pages** | The selected page and every sub-page nested beneath it, each as its own document |
| **Databases** | Every row of the selected database, each row as its own document |
| **Text blocks** | Paragraphs, headings, bulleted, numbered, and to-do lists, quotes, callouts, code blocks, dividers, and toggles (including their contents), with bold, italic, and link formatting |

Images, videos, and file attachments are not ingested — the document notes where they appear, but their contents aren't indexed. Tables, embeds, bookmarks, and equations are skipped.

### Steps to Connect

1. **Log in to Statisfy.**

2. Open the **Integrations** page, select the **Admin Apps** tab, and click the **Notion** card.

3. In the **Connect Notion** dialog, click **Connect your account**. A Notion window opens.

4. In Notion, select the pages and databases to share with Statisfy and allow access. Sharing a page also shares everything beneath it.

5. When the window closes, you'll see "Successfully connected Notion!" and the card shows as connected.

  You can share more pages or databases later from within Notion, using the page's share settings. Newly shared content becomes available to select in your datasets.

### Add a Notion Source to a KB Dataset

1. Open **Knowledge Base** and create the dataset if it doesn't exist yet.

2. Open the dataset, click the **settings (gear)** icon to open the **Configure Dataset** dialog, then under **Connected Source** click **Connect Source** and choose **Notion**.

3. Under **Add a page or database**, search for and pick the pages and databases to sync. Only top-level pages and databases are listed — selecting a page also syncs all of its sub-pages.

4. For each selection, choose a sync mode — **Global** or **Account-level** (see below).

5. Click **Add Source**, then save the dataset to start the sync.

  If the Notion option is disabled with "Please connect Notion via Integrations to ingest pages", connect Notion first (see above). If the list says "Nothing is shared with the Notion integration yet", share a page or database with the integration from within Notion.

### Global vs Account-Level Mode

**Global** (default) — the content is available dataset-wide:

* For a database, every row is synced
* For a page, the page and all of its sub-pages are synced

**Account-level** — each item is matched to a Statisfy account and indexed scoped to that account. Use this when each account has its own pages or database rows — account plans, meeting notes, onboarding trackers:

* **Database**: pick the **Property** (column) that identifies the account. Each row is matched independently; a row that doesn't match any account is skipped.
* **Page**: the match is made once from the **Page Title**. The matched account applies to the page and all of its sub-pages. If the title doesn't match any account, the whole page and its sub-pages are skipped.

Then choose what to **Match against**:

| Option | How it matches |
| - | - |
| **Account Name (fuzzy match)** | Case-insensitive name match. Adjust the **Fuzzy match cutoff** (0.0–1.0, default 0.5) — higher values require closer matches |
| **Account Domain** | Exact match against the account's domain or alias domains |
| **CRM Account ID** | Exact match against the account's CRM ID |
| **Other custom field…** | Exact match against an account custom field you pick |

For properties that hold several values — such as multi-select, people, or relation — each value is tried in turn and the first match is used.

### Keeping Content Up to Date

* Notion sources refresh automatically once a day, picking up pages you've edited since the last sync.
* To sync right away, click the **refresh** icon on the Notion source card in the dataset settings, or trigger a refresh from the dataset's detail page.
* Saving the dataset with a changed selection also starts a sync.

<Warning>
  Removing content in Notion doesn't remove it from Statisfy. Pages you delete or stop sharing in Notion, and selections you remove from the dataset, keep their already-synced documents. Delete those documents from the dataset if you no longer want them used.

### Disconnect Notion

Open the **Notion** card on the **Admin Apps** tab and click **Disconnect**. Notion sources stop syncing until you connect again; documents already synced stay in their datasets.

  The **Notion MCP** server under **Integrations → MCP Servers** is a separate connection that lets agents search and update Notion pages. It has its own sign-in and isn't used for Knowledge Base sync. See [Third-Party MCP Servers](/integrations/third_party_mcp_servers).

### Troubleshooting

<Accordion title="A page I shared doesn't appear in the picker">
  * The picker lists only top-level pages and databases. A sub-page shared on its own may not appear — select its top-level parent page instead, which syncs everything beneath it.
  * Confirm the page is shared with the integration in Notion.

<Accordion title="Account-level content is being skipped">
  * Check that the chosen **Property** holds a value that matches the **Match against** option — for example, a domain property matched against **Account Domain**.
  * For **Account Name**, try lowering the **Fuzzy match cutoff**.
  * For a page, the page's title must identify the account.

<Accordion title="Content isn't updating">
  * Content refreshes once a day; use the **refresh** icon to sync immediately.
  * Confirm the page is still shared with the integration in Notion, and that Notion is still connected under **Integrations**.
