# Refresh from CRM

> Re-read one account, contact or opportunity from your connected CRMs now, instead of waiting for the next sync.

## Overview

Statisfy keeps accounts, contacts and opportunities up to date on your sync schedule. When you
know a record just changed in your CRM and you want Statisfy to show it now, use **Refresh from
CRM**. It re-reads that one record from every CRM you have connected (Salesforce, HubSpot and
Gainsight) and updates it in Statisfy.

A refresh changes only the record you refresh. Other records stay as they are, even on the same
account.

## Where to find it

| Record | Where the button is |
| - | - |
| Account | In the **Account Details** header on the account page |
| Contact | At the top of the contact's page. It shows only for a contact that belongs to an account. |
| Opportunity | In the action row of the opportunity sheet |

## Refresh a record

1. Open the account, contact or opportunity.
2. Click **Refresh from CRM** (the refresh icon).
3. Read the message that appears:

   ![The message after an account refresh](https://cdn.statisfy.com/help-artifacts/accounts/refresh-from-crm-account-toast.png)

   * **"This account is scheduled to be refreshed. Changes should reflect in 30 minutes"**:
     the refresh is on its way. Most changes show within a minute; the page re-reads the record
     for you a few times.
   * **"Not found in …"**: that CRM does not have this record, the record did not come from
     that CRM, or it is outside your sync filters there.
   * **"Couldn't reach …"**: Statisfy could not contact that CRM. Try again later.

<Note>
  After a refresh, the button rests for one minute. Its tooltip says "Refreshed recently. You
  can refresh again after a minute."
</Note>

<Warning>
  Each refresh makes API calls to your CRM, and they count against your org's API limits (for
  Salesforce, the daily API request allowance). Refreshing the same record again and again, or
  many records at once, uses up that allowance, and your regular syncs need it too. Refresh a
  record when you know it changed, not to check whether it did.
</Warning>

## What a refresh updates

| You refresh | Updated | Not changed |
| - | - | - |
| An account | The account's fields, its custom fields and its owners | Its contacts and opportunities. Its domains, which come from all of its contacts. |
| A contact | That contact and its custom fields | Its account, and the account's other contacts and opportunities |
| An opportunity | That opportunity and its custom fields | Its account, its contacts, and the account's other opportunities |

A few things to know:

* **Moved records follow the move.** If a contact or opportunity moved to another account in
  your CRM, the refresh moves it in Statisfy too.
* **Your edits in Statisfy are kept.** A custom field value you changed in Statisfy, and
  domains you added or removed on an account, are not overwritten by a refresh.
* **Gainsight refreshes accounts only.** For a contact or opportunity, the message says
  "Not found in Gainsight"; your other connected CRMs still refresh it.
* **Currency custom fields** show whole units, as they do after every sync.

## When the button is not available

* On an opportunity with unsaved changes, the button is disabled with the tooltip "Save or reset
  your changes to refresh from CRM". Save or reset first, so your edits and the CRM values are
  not mixed.
* On a contact that has no account, the button does not show.
