# Managing Files

> Store, browse, and organize files in Statisfy using the Files tab on an account or a digital worker, or your personal Files area.

<Note>
  Don't see the **Files** tab on accounts or the **Files** sidebar entry? File management may not be enabled for your workspace yet. Contact your Statisfy team to ask about turning it on.
</Note>

Statisfy includes a built-in file browser for storing and organizing documents alongside your customer data. The same browser appears in three places, each with its own storage location:

* **Account files** — open an account and select the **Files** tab. Files stored here are scoped to that account and visible to anyone who can view the account. Use this for customer-facing material such as contracts, QBR decks, and shared assets.
* **Your files** — in the Digital Workers area, select **Files** in the sidebar (under the Platform section). Files stored here belong to your user and are separate from any account.
* **Digital worker files** — open a worker's configuration form and select its **Files** tab. Files stored here belong to that worker. See [Configuring a Digital Worker](/digital-workers/configuring_a_worker).

Files uploaded to one location do not appear in the others, so choose the account's **Files** tab when a document belongs with the customer and your personal **Files** area when it's your own working material.

<Note>
  Digital Workers keep their notes in the same storage. An account's **Files** tab can contain files that workers write, such as `index.md` and `outreach-log.md`, and a worker's **Files** tab holds that worker's own notes. Workers rely on these files to remember what they've learned, so renaming or deleting them changes what the workers know.
</Note>

## Browsing folders

The file browser has two panels:

* **Folder tree** (left) — an expandable tree of all folders. Click a folder to open it.
* **File listing** (right) — the contents of the current folder, with each item's name, size, and last modified time.

A breadcrumb trail above the listing shows where you are. The root of the trail is named after the owner of the files (the account name on an account's Files tab, the worker name on a worker's Files tab, or **My files** for your personal files). Click the root to return to the top level, or click any segment to jump to that folder. Click a folder in the listing to open it.

## Creating folders

1. Navigate to the folder where you want the new folder to live.
2. Click **New folder**.
3. Enter a name and click **Create**.

## Uploading files

There are two ways to upload into the current folder:

* Click **Upload** and select one or more files.
* Drag files from your desktop and drop them anywhere on the file listing. The listing highlights while you're dragging.

Each file can be up to 25 MB. Statisfy rejects larger files before uploading and shows an error naming the file.

## Previewing and downloading files

Click a file's name to open a preview. To download the file, click **Download** in the preview, or open the **⋮** menu on the file's row and select **Download**. Files that can't be previewed show a message instead and can still be downloaded. The file saves through your browser's normal download flow.

## Renaming and deleting

Open the **⋮** menu on any file or folder row:

* **Rename** — enter the new name and click **Rename**.
* **Delete** — confirm in the dialog to remove the item. Deleting a folder also deletes everything inside it. Deletion cannot be undone.

## Searching

Type in the **Search files** box to search the text inside files in the current folder and its subfolders. Search matches file contents, not file names. Each result shows the file name, its full path, and a matching snippet. Click a result to open the folder that contains it. Clear the search box to return to the folder listing.

## All files view for admins

If you're a workspace admin, the personal **Files** page in the Digital Workers area shows a **My files** / **All files** toggle. **All files** is a read-only browse of every file in the workspace, organized into top-level folders for accounts, users, and workers, plus an `org` folder for workspace-wide files that Digital Workers use. Inside the account, user, and worker folders, Statisfy labels each entry with the account name, user email, or worker name instead of its internal ID.

Use the All files view to audit what's stored across the workspace or to download a file on someone else's behalf. Browsing, search, and downloads work as usual. Uploads, folder creation, rename, and delete are disabled. To change a file, go to its home location (the account's Files tab, the worker's Files tab, or your own files).
